Specifically, this concerns the area of the river "Prims". On 25 October around 6.25 UTC, TC OTIS (Cat. 5 Hurricane) made landfall over the area of the coastal City of Acapulco (central Guerrero State, southern Mexico) with maximum sustained winds of 270 km/h OTIS-23. OTIS-23 caused floods and landslides that resulted in evacuations and severe damage. As of 26 October, 34,522 evacuated families in 631 temporary shelters across the affected area according to WHO PAHO and national authorities. In the evening of 24 October 2023 local time, the Vanuatu archipelago was hit by the passage of a new tropical cyclone, named LOLA, with winds of up to 145 km/h. The cyclone has passed Solomon Island and will impact parts of Vanuatu. The event is ongoing and will increase over the next 48 hours with very heavy rainfall, strong wind and storm surge forecast over the whole of Vanuatu with damage expected to affect buildings and infrastructure. As of 03 September at 17:00 slow-moving storm system, officially known as an upper-level isolated depression (DANA), has affected Spain, causing heavy rains and floods. The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) issued a red alert for Madrid and Toledo. Authorities had reported numerous evacuations, high-water rescues, missing persons, and fatalities. The event is not ongoing yet it caused a catastrophic flood with serious human and economic damage. The search for missing persons and damage assessment continues. Due to extreme rainfall in the Thessaly Region, extended floods occurred in the Magnesia Regional Unit, mostly around the city of Volos and coastal areas of the Pelion mountain peninsula. Extreme rainfall is ongoing and according to the forecast of the National Meteorological Service, the rainfall will continue until tomorrow afternoon. One person is missing, one died, and many cars drifted away due to the flooding. Local Fire Service received many calls for help to pump water from flooded buildings and rescue people trapped by the rising waters. On 21 August 2023 at 05:59 UTC two wildfires started in a forest area near Prodromos village (Sterea Ellada Region) and in the afternoon (15:10 UTC) in a forest area near Kyriaki village. The event is ongoing. Residents of the villages Prodromos, Paralia Sarandi, Karioti, Tarsos, Panagia Kalamiotissa and Agios Athnasios were ordered to evacuate. According to the Hellenic Fire Service 66 firefighters are currently operating in the area, assisted by 10 ground force groups, 43 vehicles, 7 water-bombing aircrafts and 7 helicopters. Personnel and means of municipalities, Region and groups of volunteers are assisting.
