Imaginary Ones announces iQIYI executive as advisor and investor

NFT enthusiasts would be familiar with Imaginary Ones – a collection which took just four minutes to mint it during its public mint back in 2022.

Its unique art and project success also caught the attention of HUGO BOSS, which led it to be the first Asia-born NFT project to partner with an international fashion label.

New advisor and investor announcement

Earlier today, Imaginary Ones announced that it has onboarded Kuek Yu-Chuang, who is currently the Vice President at iQIYI, as their strategic advisor and investor. Kuek was also the Managing Director of Asia Pacific at Netflix. With Kuek’s support, Imaginary Ones is looking to make headway into the entertainment industry.

Clement Chia, Co-Founder of Imaginary Ones, shared, β€œOur dive into TV and film is more than a venture; it’s a manifestation of our vision for transformative storytelling. Collaborating with Kuek elevates our mission, enabling us to craft content that not only entertains but leaves a lasting mark in the entertainment world.”

Ambition in the entertainment and gaming space

Other than its ambition in the entertainment industry, Imaginary Ones is also pushing into the casual gaming space in its bid to reach more mass audience.

The brand recently launched a beta test of β€œBubble Rider”, a runner mobile game which allows player to collect bubbles and cover as much distance as possible to earn points. Over 200,000 users signed up for its pre-launch.

Its been a half a year of production. So many late nights. So many re-iteration. So much re-doing and trying again.

And finally we are getting closer to launching Bubble Rangers.

Seeing the community enjoy the beta testing so far brings so much fulfilment.

MAS issues prohibition orders to 3AC’s Zhu Su and Kyle Livingston Davies

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has just issued nine-year prohibition orders against the two directors of now defunct hedge fund Three Arrows Capital (TAC), Zhu Su and Kyle Livingston Davies.

According to the release by MAS, Zhu Su and Kyle will be prohibited from performing any β€œregulated activity and from taking part in the management of, acting as a director of or becoming a substantial shareholder, of any capital market services firm” under Singapore’s Securities and Futures Act 2001.

Zhu Su held the position of Chief Executive, while Kyle Livingston Davies served as Chairman of Three Arrows prior to its forced liquidation in June of the previous year. Both individuals also served as directors of the fund.

These prohibition orders were issued by MAS following the regulator’s rebuke of Three Arrows for providing false information to the central bank, failing to inform MAS of changes to Zhu and Davies’ roles as directors and their shareholdings, and surpassing the allowable assets under management limit for a registered fund management company.

Earlier in February, Zhu Su announced the launch of his new exchange and marketplace called OPNX. The platform will be primarily used for trading claims and derivatives related to funds stuck on failed exchanges.

At the moment, it is unclear which jurisdiction OPNX is operating under. From Zhu’s X’s activities, it seems like the prohibition orders from MAS did not dampen his spirit and business seems to be as usual for him.
