How to watch South Africa vs New Zealand 3rd test online from anywhere: free live streams, team news for Rugby's Greatest Rivalry 2026

Watch South Africa vs New Zealand 3rd Test live streams

The niceties are out of the window ahead of the South Africa vs New Zealand 3rd Test, which isn't technically the decider but certainly feels that way. It's the last game of the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series to take place on South African soil, even if Soweto hasn't always felt like home for the Springboks.

They've played three games at the Calabash and lost two of them. The team that beat them on both occasions? That would be the All Blacks, by 22-29 in 2010, and by 16-32 two years later.

Despite being outscored by four tries to three, another flawless display of kicking by Cheslin Kolbe dragged South Africa level. Eben Etzebeth's interventions at the lineout were also crucial, causing New Zealand to turn the ball over three times in key areas of the pitch.

It's fair to say Dave Rennie didn't take the first defeat of his All Blacks tenure well. He said that the Boks props "walk around" the mark, triggering a full-scale feeding frenzy in the media.

Rassie Erasmus and forwards coach Daan Human were quick to bite back, though it's worth clarifying that Rennie's allegation didn't come entirely out of the blue. Erasmus, ever the provocateur, had already raised Rennie's ire by making wave after wave of last-minute changes to his starting lineup.

The shared flight to Baltimore next week should be interesting.

Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you – Pierre Gasly really is on pole for today's Italian Grand Prix. It's the Alpine man's first pole at the 190th time of asking and, even more extraordinarily, it comes six years to the day after his one and only F1 victory: 2020's Italian GP at Monza. The lights are set to go out at 9am ET / 2pm BST.

Find out as we show you how to watch Italian Grand Prix live streams for free from anywhere in the world.

2pm – Italian Grand Prix

Italian Grand Prix 2026 Preview

Gasly is starting alongside George Russell on the front row of the grid. The pre-season favourite, who's trailing championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 59 points, needs to make the most of his teammate's relegation to the back of the grid for taking a new engine – a penalty that Russell himself will have to absorb sometime in the coming weeks.

What made Gasly's pole especially galling for Russell and Mercedes is that Antonelli spent much of Qualifying giving his teammate a tow.

It's safe to say there's no danger of Cupid being let loose on the Silver Arrows. Antonelli would have loved a crack at victory on home soil, but Toto Wolff doesn't do raomance. Instead, he'd decided that the Italian Grand Prix was the best place for Mercedes to replace his power unit – and thereby trigger a grid penalty. Spoilsport.

Oscar Piastri went third-fastest, but was handed a three-place penalty for impeding Liam Lawson, which moves Max Verstappen into the front five, behind Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, favourites of the Scuderia-mad tifosi.

Leclerc has won the Italian Grand Prix twice (2024, 2019) in the colours of Ferrari, prompting extraordinary scenes in the pitlane and grandstands on both occasions. Hamilton, a five-time winner of this race (2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, 2012), finished sixth on his first visit to the track as a Ferrari driver. If there's one race he'd like to win above any other, it's this – he'd be the first British driver to win the race for the Scuderia since John Surtees in 1964.

After back-to-back victories, reigning champion Lando Norris starts from eight.
